Hi + Hello
Happy Week 18! This might be late but as far as I’m concerned, we’re still right on time. The ability to be flexible with certain aspects of reaching our goals is paramount- all moving parts will not be perfect or go as planned, so our ability to make it work within the reality of our circumstances is key. Major key.

✍🏾 #RandomSessionNotes
1. Consider how long it takes you to change when you expect someone else to.
2. Rework your definition of failure. Make it narrow.
3. Audit your communication. Are you saying what you mean and is the meaning evident or open to interpretation?

Write. Journal. Take notes on your life. It creates a structure for thoughts, assists with articulation, helps to flesh out and process experiences and emotions, can identify patterns, and provides a record of your journey. Life happens so fast, and it’s easy to forget the happenings of our days, weeks, months, seasons. If we wrote them down, now we make them accessible again. I can acknowledge there may be some things we don’t want to remember (guilty), but in documenting those times too, as painful as they may be, it also serves as evidence of just how far we’ve come when we inevitably make it to the other side.

😏 Unrelated Musings
Speaking of writing, I recently attended a talk by author Xochitl Gonzalez. She spoke about her newest book Last Night in Brooklyn (my next read) at a really cute Audible pop up downtown (there til May 31). I was invited to the event not knowing what it was until I arrived and I couldn’t help but feel the specialness of something like serendipity. First, I learned of Xochitl barely a couple months ago when I was off tv, watching tons of Moth stories. Hers was one of my favorites. It was captivating, interesting, and funny. Second, my inviter knew nothing of her or that I actually did. Third, there almost was no invite at all (ikr?). And so, as all of these interesting tidbits converged into such an awesome experience, I was (and still am) in awe of how such things from the past and present lead me to have what I might consider a purposeful time. The big picture is real, we just can’t see it all at once, and times like this help me believe the picture is turning out beautifully.
My favorite possible self writes another blog post in approximately one week! My mantra says I follow through, so I must! See you there!
